Workshop with Gracefully Coffee Roasters
1:00 PM – 4:00
In collaboration with Gracefully Coffee Roasters we are hosting a coffee workshop in the lower level of our cozy barn; the perfect setup for a winter afternoon outing for couples or friends. On February 10, the weekend before Valentines Day, we are collaborating with Gracefully Coffee Roasters for a hands on workshop to explore the nuanced flavor, diversity and terroir of our favorite international treat.
Gracefully is a small-batch specialty coffee roasting company in Windsor Mill, MD. The Coffee Roaster, Derek, will lead you through a cupping (tasting) of several single origin varieties. You will learn how to cup coffee, evaluate coffee, and find out what appeals to your palette. There will also be a roasting demonstration on an Ikawa sample roaster.
We will have hands-on demonstration and discuss proper techniques for brewing to allow you to make YOUR perfect cup of coffee at home. Try a variety of ways to brew and take the opportunity to ask specific questions to the roasters and baristas. There will also be herb infused baked goods provided by our our friend Lisa Doyle to cleanse your coffee palette and take the edge off. So come hungry and with an open mind to explore and appreciate new ways to appreciate already familiar flavors.
After class, take advantage of the opportunity to shop with your loved one though our collection of farm grown, and collaboratively made, home and personal care products.
Congratulations to Jessica Mills for winning a free ticket through our Christmas Market Drawing!
Coffee has a huge global impact. It is the second most traded global commodity behind oil and 75% of higher quality arabica beans grown on farms 2.5 acres or less. Its production effects small farmers, rural communities and diverse ecologies around the world . Our daily purchase of coffee has a trickle down that effects this long chain of contributors.
